"Every opportunity has its root in a relationship."
We live in an era of unprecedented social reach. It has become exponentially easier to reach your audience. Yet, ironically, the nature of our relationships remains unchanged. But real relationships can be lasting. In this episode, we explore strategies to create and leverage powerful relationships that are built with trust, respect, and mutual opportunity.
In this episode we talk about:
"You can make more friends in two months by becoming interested in other people than you can in two years by trying to get other people interested in you." -Dale Carnegie
If you knew you couldn't fail, what would you do?
Have you ever struggled to stay motivated doing something you once loved? Do you find that factors that used to motivate you no longer have that effect?
Motivation is generally defined as the force that compels us to action. It drives us to work hard and pushes us to succeed. Motivation influences our behavior and our ability to accomplish goals. There are many different forms of motivation. Each one influences behavior in its own unique way, and no single type of motivation works for everyone. People’s personalities vary and so does the type of motivation that is most effective at inspiring someone at any given time. True motivation comes from within and is the topic of this weeks episode of influence.
In this episode we talk about:

"Discover what must you do TODAY in order to live completely, fully, and without regret." -Satyen Raja
What does freedom mean to you? We all define and desire freedom in our own way. It's what many generations dreamt of, what others fought for, and the reality that today, we live for. Ironically, however, our pursuit of our great ambitions (what we hope will make us free), often leads to distractions that actually rob us of freedom. My guest this week is Warrior Sage, Satyen Raja. His mission is to help others ignite passion, live with freedom and embody love. Satyen's wisdom and experience will captivate you and challenge you to unleash the warrior sage within you and reclaim the freedom you deserve.

My guest this week is 14 years old. That's not a typo. The fact that Caleb is 14, doesn't mean I let him off easy. I wanted to find out what exactly he is doing to make such a powerful impression as an entrepreneurial. Where is he investing his time and energy and what is fueling this meteoric rise in influence?
In this episode we talk about:
"The gun that kills the most people is the "gonna” There is no better time than there is right now." -Caleb Maddix
Picture yourself on the wrong side of enemy lines. You are in the midst of a firefight and your survival is hinging solely upon the performance of your team. Now rewind back to the school-yard pick. What character traits would be most important when choosing each member of that team?
Enter Army Ranger and Delta Force Veteran Travis Krauss, my guest on this week's episode of Influence. Travis has an unbelievable resume of combat experience, complimented by an equally impressive resume as a consultant, entrepreneur, and creator of the Las Vegas combat experience, Adventure Combat Ops. Travis joins me to talk about what it was like to be part of an elite team, and moreover, what 10+ years of combat has taught him about building companies and leading highly skilled teams.
In this episode we talk about:
"The unit (Delta Force) prides itself on being the best in the world NOT because they have the BEST operators, but because they have the RIGHT operators." -Travis Krauss
The human brain is incredible, generating an estimated 60,000 thoughts every single day. Research suggests that by the time you reach the age of 18, you will have been told no 150,000 times. Consequently, it’s not surprising that 80% of the recurring thoughts you have each day are negative. On the other side of the coin, however, your brain operating in a positive state is 31% more effective overall. Salesmen in a positive state will sell 37% more than when neutral or negative, and physicians operate 19% faster and more accurate. This is known as the “happiness advantage” and is exactly what my guest, Dr. Ben Belnap digs into in this episode of influence.
I don’t think there is an interview that we have had to date that has more potential to facilitate positive change. Everything we talk about in this episode will help you take control of your mind, amplify your confidence, and open the floodgates of opportunity.
In this episode, we talk about:
” Success is ultimately a byproduct of our ability to be more mindful and grateful in the work we do.” -Ben Belnap

This episode of Influence is a first. Two sales guru's with very different backgrounds get together to talk about the strategies of the pro's. Ryan's converted a lifetime of sales experience into a blog and a few tech wizards, helped him convert his blog into an online presence that is garnering millions of views each month. Ryan teaches "outside the box" lead generation strategies as well as "out of the box" funnel programs to start building a customer base within hours. Most importantly, Ryan teaches his clients how to close those leads. His focus isn't just high pressure in-your-face selling. His approach is methodical, surgical and most importantly, captivating. Ryan's method teaches you how to create so much value that your customers will look forward to paying you a commission.
In this episode, we talk about:

Who is Ryan Stewman? First and foremost he’s a salesman. Followed by Best Selling Author, Speaker, Consultant, Entrepreneur, and Podcaster. Ryan has not had a salaried job his entire life. By mastering the art of being a super effective communicator, Ryan has closed more transactions than he has time to add up. Besides, no one likes looking at super inflated numbers that are just a guess.
With his no BS approach to making things happen, Ryan has been able to help high income, and high net worth performers make adjustments in their businesses that have led to windfalls of profits for them.
Ryan’s background is in the mortgage industry. He was a loan officer in Dallas, Texas for almost 10 years. During his time as a LO, Ryan closed 1000s of loans for people across the country. Ryan has been the top producing salesman at every sales job he’s had.
Lastly, Ryan would like me to tell you to hire him. You can check his LONG track record of helping top producers hit a level in business they never before imagined. You won’t find any negative reviews from any of his paying clients, past and present, anywhere. He ALWAYS delivers what he says, and his track record proves it. Buy from Ryan and win. End of story.

My guest this week is Travis Dillard - wellness coach, entrepreneur, and super-ripped dude. Fitness and health weren't always part of Travis' life. In fact, for most of his youth, he took his health for granted. A life-changing realization launched Travis into a quest to find his health, and a consequent passion to build a business helping other entrepreneurs do the same. Today, entrepreneurs looking for an edge depend on Travis to help them increase their focus and energy quickly so they can maximize their money making capacity, day-to-day performance, and transform not just their bodies, but also the way they live, feel, and see themselves when they look in the mirror.
"Focus on your health, so you CAN enjoy you wealth." -Travis Dillard
In this episode, we talk about:
No, I haven’t lived out of my car, begged for money or eaten garbage scraps, In fact, I was very blessed with a supportive family and a great education. That being said…
It made it very easy to just let life pass me by. After all, everything was “okay”.
Right?
Well, this road to mediocrity eventually led me to a dark place. I was skinny, yet fat in all the wrong places. You know, the type with frail looking legs but a soft, pudgy upper body. The guy who was too embarrassed to take his shirt off at the pool. Yep, that was me.
Given the way I looked and felt about myself, I was lost, insecure and anxious about my future. Even worse, I was tired, out of shape, and lacked any real focus.
The Turning Point
A long story short, I made a drastic change to force myself in the right direction…I got in shape and started a business.
Mission: I want to see other entrepreneurs follow what worked for me.
Where I am now:
Your business depends on your mental clarity, your energy and your ability to make clear and logical decisions on the fly. We all have a superpower to deliver to the world and your body is the only channel you have to deliver your offering.
Isn’t it time you start treating it as such? Quite frankly, If you are not treating your body and mind with the respect it deserves, you are being selfish. Imagine what your partner would say, what your kids would think, what your business would look like?
You have the ability to help more people, and to finally start enjoying your wealth. …To stop leaving money on the table. …To finally look good, feel good & perform at your highest levels. Begin to treat your body like a professional athlete, and bring out your best physical self.

This episode of Influence takes you right into the action with Dan Klein - millionaire marketer and co-founder of jobkilling.com. Dan has perfected a system that leverages the power of online marketing to help thousands ditch their job and embrace financial freedom. Understanding that many of our listeners are not necessarily looking to kill their job's, I convinced Dan to share some of his most prized online strategies to drive more leads through the proverbial front door. In this episode, we discuss:
"Leads are the game . . .there is nothing more important or nothing that drives revenue more than leads. That’s the only reason people advertise, is to generate leads. So if you want to fast forward your results, you need to learn how to be your own lead generator." -Dan Klein
As a former Division 1 Athlete, Dan left school to sell luxury motorhomes and automobiles. Dan was the youngest sales manager of a Fortune 500 Company, and perfected his sales techniques swiftly and with ease.
After leaving the car industry in 2008, Dan spearheaded two highly profitable online sales businesses peaking over seven figures in sales during the worst financial crisis of our time.
After the sale of his internet companies, Dan acquired three local businesses and entered the consulting realm. In mid-2014 Dan and a partner launched one of the largest world-wide local lead generation training companies to date; generating over $6 million in sales in less than 18 months. The company is jobkilling.com. and their mantra is "kill your 9-5".

"The biggest tragedy in my life wasn't that I lost my sight. The biggest tragedy is that I didn't live my life, before I lost my sight, like I do today. Today I see my blindness as a gift . . ." -Tanner Gers
This episode of Influence introduces the incredible story of Tanner Gers. At age 21, Tanner was in a horrible car accident that left him blind in both eyes. Instead of giving up, Tanner took flight, finishing his degree and eventually representing the United States as a Paralympic athlete. Today, Tanner is a power-house entrepreneur with a variety of businesses centered around coaching, health, and fitness. Just listening to Tanner will inspire you to stand up, get over yourself, and do something fantastic with your life.
In this episode we are going to talk about:
"Everyday is a lot easier when you know it could always be worse" -Tanner Gers
Tanner Gers (pronounced Gears) is a published author, professional speaker, US Paralympian, founder of ABSolutely Lean, and host of The Athlete Summit. Tanner’s big mission in life is to help people across the world achieve their potential with his gift for cultivating confidence, determination, and the will to achieve greatness in life, regardless of circumstance. Oh yeah. He’s also totally blind.
In 2004, Tanner experienced a horrible auto accident that left him in a coma and destroyed his ability to see. Tanner was determined to not be defined by his disability or let that prevent him from living his dreams. Tanner is an individual that embodies the idea that anyone can do anything they set their mind to and does this every day by helping others achieve their full potential.
In 2010, Tanner started training and coaching developmental athletes in various sports, including volleyball, baseball, football and cross country. After having the honor and the privilege to represent the United States at the 2012 Games in London, Tanner’s focus on optimal athletic performance began to shift toward optimal health.
While having tremendous success with his 1-on-1 clients, Tanner felt he could do more with his story and began his public speaking career. Quickly becoming an accomplished speaker, Tanner delivers keynotes for schools, colleges, non-profits, and corporate events across the country in addition to presentations on exercise, nutrition, and health.
Motivated to help individuals worldwide, Tanner launched www.ABSolutelyLean.com and published two books, “Becoming ABSolutely Lean: The First Steps to Optimal Health, Hormones and Achieving a Lean Body,” and “ABSolutely Lean Fast Food: The Fat Loss Guide in a Fast Food Life” and released his bodyweight fitness program, ABSolutely Lean System Fitness. This episode of Influence reveals a power example of how a mentor can transform your life. Michael Unks is wise beyond his years, and has some incredible insights into the foundational aspects of finding happiness and achieving success. MEET MICHAEL UNKS
Michael Unks is a pharmacist, public speaker, entrepreneur, habitual bow-tie wearer and a best-selling author on Amazon
Michael graduated from the South Carolina College of Pharmacy in May 2015 at the age of 24. He dramatically changed his outlook in his last year of pharmacy school with help from his teacher, Will.
A majority of his life he has struggled with his weight, social anxiety and the feeling of never being good enough. However, he’s made radical changes and wants to share what he learns with others so they can improve their lives, too. His writing style has been described as “Raw” because of his willingness to be vulnerable to help readers learn from his mistakes.
Michael hoped his first book, One-Month Willpower: A Simple System For Life-Changing Transformation showed others how they can live incredible, fulfilling lives and reach their potential. He also wanted to give back to his country; All proceeds went towards the Wounded Warrior Project.
His second book: “One-Week Willpower: A Simple Foundation to Become More Successful, Likable and Achieve Your Dreams” came out November 2015 and provides readers a one-week guide to improve their lives using the SIMPLE acronym.
He is extremely excited about his third book: “Awesome in Hours: 7 Easily Obtainable Qualities, 35 Practical Take-Aways to Becoming an Awesome Individual.” A book that teaches the AWESOME acronym in less than 2 hours.

One of the most essential ingredients to influence and entrepreneurship is the ability to build rapport with your customers. While it is one thing to know where to find your customers, it's an entirely different thing to know how to build relationships that create value for them, and revenue for you.
My guest today is Luis Congdon. His unbelievable story begins in Columbia when, at the age of five, his mother was murdered leaving him both orphaned and homeless. At the age of eight, his life transformed as he was rescued by adoptive parents who brought him to the United States.
By nature of the many struggles Luis faced with relationships, he gravitated towards the work of relationship experts, Dr.’s John and Julie Gottman. In addition to teaching their system, Luis was also a key player in one of the nation’s largest research projects looking into the components of successful marriage relationships. However, in spite such powerful experience, Luis struggled to find his niche, and again found himself homeless. While sleeping on friends couches, Luis discovered the power of online marketing and embraced a forum that would enable him to share his expertise with the world.
Today, Luis is the host of Lasting Love Connection, a top rated iTunes podcast as well as thrivinglaunch.com. Luis is the creator of a powerful course for podcasters and owner of a popular Facebook podcast group. Luis went from sleeping on couches to making a six figure income via digital products, podcasting, Facebook and networking in only 10 months. Best of all, he is ready to teach you his secrets.
